PaintShop Pro needs to do a MUCH better job of showing users what’s going on and allowing users to cancel operations. Lastly, I would like to echo Annette’s feedback once again that the most-frustrating part of the AI tools is that – for the most part – they lock up the PaintShop Pro application when in use. What Corel SHOULD have done for features like JPEG Artifact Removal was to make AI an option, as they did for the Resize feature, thereby allowing users to get the best results for their situations.
However, giving credit where it’s due, when Corel decided to add AI functionality to the Resize feature, the AI functionality was added an an OPTION, and users were able to choose a different resizing method if the AI features do not yield acceptable results. Because of this poor design decision on Corel’s part, I am forced to keep multiple versions of PaintShop Pro installed in order to keep using the older features that actually worked. Now that this feature has changed to an AI tool – it does nothing, and there are no options that would allow users to experiment with different settings that might yield better results. 2020 and earlier), the JPEG Artifact Removal feature actually did something noticeable, and users had the option to choose various strengths (low/normal/high/max) and sharpening/crispness. The AIs are, however, very adept at freezing the program often for no apparent reason, always a treat! And now, we are barraged with tantalizing requests to upgrade to PSP 2022, with even more AI tools. I get better results with good old, less “intelligent” tools. After upgrading to every version since, I now have the 2021 version, as I was lured in by the descriptions of the miracles that the the new AI tools could perform! Aha! I have been most disappointed to discover that those tools are so intelligent that they accomplish very little if any effect, and that is if they choose to work at all. I have been a very pleased and devoted user of PaintShop since before Jasc sold out to Corel many years ago. Download the zip file to your computer, extract the frame files from the zip file and save to C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\Corel PaintShop Pro\2020\Picture Frames.
